Chisholm Institute
Are you 50 years or over, financially independent and want to start your own business?
Then the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) training program could help you turn your business idea into reality!
From 1 July 2006 the NEIS program provides assistance for mature age participants aged 50 years and over who have the financial capacity to support themselves during both the NEIS Training and NEIS Assistance periods (up to 15 months). This group is known as the ‘Non-Allowee Mature Age’ (NAMA) group.
NEIS at Chisholm Institute will give you free Small Business Training.
During the 7 week training period you will receive help to develop your Business Plan which must be assessed and approved.
During the training you will:
carry out market research relating to your business idea
prepare a Business Plan
attend one-on-one meetings with tutors, where the Business Plan is progressively discussed and developed
and
present and submit a final Business Plan with supporting documentation for approval by the Advisory Committee.
The 7-week training course is based on the Certificate IV in Business (Small Business Management – BSB40401). Successful completion will enable you to gain the Certificate.
Successful NEIS NAMA participants receive mentor support during their first 12 months of operation.
To qualify for NAMA, you must satisfy the following three mandatory tests:
1. Maximum Income Test
2. Maximum Asset Test
3. Minimum Cash Flow Test
Note that documentary evidence is also required to be provided.
